This notice explains how we handle the personal data of visitors to kadarkawineday.com. It is based on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Hungarian Act CXII of 2011 on informational self-determination and freedom of information.

2. What data we process and why
2.1 Serving the website
The website is served by Cloudflare. Each time a page loads, your browser sends technical data (IP address, time, the address of the page, browser type). Cloudflare uses this to deliver the website and to protect it against attacks.
- Purpose: keeping the website secure and available.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention: briefly, under Cloudflare’s own policies.
2.2 Visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
We see aggregated statistics: how many people visit, which pages they view, where they come from, and their country and device type. This service uses no cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
- Purpose: improving the website and measuring interest in Kadarka Day.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
2.3 Google Analytics — only with your consent
If you click “Accept” in the cookie banner, Google Analytics 4 places cookies in your browser (_ga, _ga_…) and records which pages you view and what you click on this website — for example, which shop, winery or article link. Google Analytics does not store your IP address; at most it uses it to estimate your country or city. Advertising features and Google Signals are switched off.
If you don’t accept, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
- Purpose: understanding which content and partners (wineries, shops, wine bars) interest visitors.
- Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Retention: analytics data is kept for 14 months; the cookies stay in your browser for up to 2 years, or until you delete them.
- Withdrawing consent: at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. Google Analytics cookies are then deleted.
2.4 Your cookie choice
We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage (localStorage, named “kwd-consent”) so we don’t ask every time. It never leaves your browser.
- Legal basis: strictly necessary for the service you requested (Section 155(4) of the Hungarian Act C of 2003 on electronic communications).
2.5 Contacting us by email
If you write to info@hungarianwines.eu, we use your name, email address and message to answer you.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention: [TODO: e.g. 1 year after the matter is closed].
3. Data processors
| Processor | Task |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA | hosting, content delivery, visitor statistics |
| Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland | Google Analytics (only with consent) |
| [TODO: e-mail szolgáltató neve és címe / email provider name and address] | hosting the info@hungarianwines.eu mailbox |
Cloudflare and Google may also process data in the United States. Both companies participate in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which provides adequate protection for such transfers.
4. Fonts and external websites
Fonts are served from our own hosting, not from Google’s servers. The website does not embed external content (videos, maps or social media widgets). Links to wineries, shops, articles, Facebook and Instagram take you to other websites, where their own privacy policies apply.
5. Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, deleted or its processing restricted, exercise your right to data portability, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw your consent at any time. Send your request to info@hungarianwines.eu; we reply within one month.
6. Complaints
If you believe your data protection rights have been infringed, you can lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH):
- 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11., Hungary (postal: 1363 Budapest, Pf. 9.)
- Phone: +36 1 391 1400 · Email: ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu · naih.hu
You may also take legal action in court, including at the court of your place of residence. If you live in another EU country, you can also complain to the data protection authority there.
